{"id":4318,"date":"2023-09-06T15:48:03","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T15:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urologycenterpc.com\/?page_id=4318"},"modified":"2023-09-06T15:53:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T15:53:37","slug":"certified-nuclear-medicine-technologist","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.urologycenterpc.com\/certified-nuclear-medicine-technologist\/","title":{"rendered":"Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<b>Title:<\/b>\t\tCertified Nuclear Medicine Technologist<br \/>\n<b>Reports To:<\/b>\tClinical Operations Director<br \/>\n<b>Department:<\/b>\tClinic Operations  <\/p>\n<p><b>OSHA Category- 1 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Under the supervision of an authorized user, the nuclear medicine technologist is responsible for the safe use of ionizing and nonionizing radiation for therapeutic and research purposes. <\/p>\n<p><b>General Qualifications: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members, physicians, and co-workers.\n<li>Able to organize and perform multiple tasks, problem-solve and prioritize work assignments.\n<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.\n<li>Knowledge and ability to use various software packages including Microsoft Office,\n<li>E-mail, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Practice Management and other incidental applications\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Essential Job Functions <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides comfort and care to the patient before, during and after medication installation.\n<li>Exercises judgment to assess and respond to the patient&#8217;s needs prior to, during, and after procedures and if necessary, performs patient medication reconciliation.\n<li>Maintains proper communication with patients and behaves in a professional manner in consideration and observation of patient&#8217;s rights.\n<li>Provides a safe environment for patients and staff in compliance with standard precaution policies.\n<li>Recognizes and responds to medical emergency conditions.\n<li>Ensures that informed consent has been obtained and patient education is provided.\n<li>Establishes and\/or verifies venipuncture access using aseptic technique.\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Job Specific Duties <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works independently, performing all nuclear HotLab QA\/QC, wipes surveys according to the labs contracted program and in compliance with the state and the NRC.\n<li>Carries out all radiopharmaceutical injections or infusions required while maintaining all radiation safety standards in regulation to the State and the NRC.\n<li>Takes care of patient duties, including placing IV, paperwork, written directive orders, including working with the site\u2019s personnel to provide appropriate appointment schedules and communication to patients.\n<li>Keeps the HotLab in compliance, include proper filing of audits, records, providing educational materials to those involved in the Nuclear space, writing up, conducting, and filing Radiation Safety Meetings. And to report any packaging or other irregularity with respect to any drug dosages delivered;\n<li>Following badges for the staff including annual badge reports for each individual badged, including the proper badging and following of anyone reported pregnant\n<li>Maintain DOT training.\n<li>To schedule, educate, and follow up with patients at the clinic\n<li>Follow up with blood draws, and communicate with patients and referring physicians any side effects patients are having\n<li>Maintain communication with the Consultant and Clinic staff.\n<li>Obtains and maintains sufficient Isotope in accordance with anticipated need and license possession limits.\n<li>Assist in the development of policies and procedures, actively participates in total quality management and process improvement.\n<li>Other duties as assigned.\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>License\/Certifications <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certified to practice the specialty of Nuclear Medicine Technology (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)) required.\n<li>Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.\n<li>Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazmat Radioactive Materials certification is required.\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working as a certified nuclear medicine technologist required.\n<li>Experience with radiopharmaceuticals preferred\n<li>Experience with development and structure of a radiopharmaceutical lab strongly preferred.\n<li>Experience in a urology setting preferred.\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Physical Activity <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pushing\/ Pulling\/ Lifting to 50 pounds.\n<li>Occasionally Performed (1%-33%):\n<li>Climbing\n<li>Crawling\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Title: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Reports To: Clinical Operations Director Department: Clinic Operations OSHA Category- 1 Under the supervision of an authorized user, the nuclear medicine technologist is responsible for the safe use of ionizing and nonionizing radiation for therapeutic and research purposes.
